This lifting beam is used to connect two 50 ton bridge cranes together to lift a much larger load. Our customer decided to throw us a little challange into the mix by want to be able to rotate the load while suspended between the two cranes.

This was not a problem. The upper lifting beam connects the two cranes together, while the lower lifting beam allows the load to rotate. The lower beam is attached to the upper beam by a single shaft with a self aligning bearing.

The rotation can only be carried out if the lifting beams are balanced and the center shaft is over the center of gravity of the load. To help our customer accomplish this, the lifting beam has two 50 ton radio controled, digital load cells and digital level indicators. The level indicators will let the operator know if the lifting beams are out of level more than plus or minus 2 degrees. READ MORE
