The new $3.9 billion Tappan Zee Bridge is being built in Rockland and Westchester counties. Port of Coeymans Marine Terminal is the staging and fabrication area for the steel frames and concrete slabs that will be floated on barges about 120 miles south on the Hudson River.
According to the Albany Business Review more than 20 Albany area companies have been awarded contracts for whatís been coined the “New NY Bridge”. The project is bolstering bottom lines and giving companies a stake in a signature project thatís expected to stand for 100 years or more.
You’re seeing upstate companies like C.D. Perry and Sonís, Dimension Fabricators, Ingalls & Associates and BBL Construction among others that are participants employing hundreds of workers that will be involved in various aspects of this project.
